SVAŠTA NEŠTO - PERFORMING SAT 21 JUNE WITH KWAM COLLECTIVE
I am pleased to announce that my current R&D movement piece - Svašta Nešto - has been selected as part of the KWAM Collective open performance night. Details below.
About
“Svašta Nešto is an Avant-Garde physical exploration of a mother and daughter relationship, touching on grief, PTSD and the experience of conflicted identity from the point of view of the diaspora. It specifically draws on the performer's British-Serbian heritage and the cultural context of the Balkans and its relationship to Britain. Through movement, soundscape and a towel, the work looks at the complex tensions, unspoken dynamics, and deep emotional resonance within a fractured maternal bond."
The Event
Sat 21 June, 7.30-10.30pm
Longfield Hall, SE5 9QY
Join us in South London for a powerful evening of dance and performance art curated by KWAM Collective in partnership with Longfield Hall. Featuring work by independent artists, the night explores the body, identity, and connection through movement, sound, and visual live performance.
From surreal social rituals and fetishes in The Surreal Banquet to the intimate, embodied reflections of As of Right Now, each piece offers a unique encounter with vulnerability, resilience, and connection through movement. Tightrope and Anticlockwise invite us into improvised relationships with space, sound, and heritage, while Svašta Nešto delves into the emotional complexities of fractured maternal bonds and grief. Dreamlike, poetic and visceral, head bucket bed and other works play with the boundaries of form and storytelling.
